On 13 July 2017, a mutual meeting of ČMOS PŠ and the Trade Union of Workers in Higher and Academic Education was held in Prague. The meeting was attended by the president of Czech Rectors Conference, prof. T. Zima, and the president of the Council of Universities and Colleges, doc. J. Fischer. The topic of the meeting were recent changes, which have been introduced together with the planned Ministry of Education budget in the framework of the national budget for the Czech republic for the year 2018.

Even though education has been declared many times by politicians as the priority, and in contrast with the policy statement of the government of the Czech Republic, education remains underfunded. The situation is serious and trade unions in education require unequivocally a remedy to be made so that education as a whole is included in the main costs priorities of the national budget for the year 2018. An increase by 4.5 billion CZK for colleges and universities and an increase by 15% of an average salary for teachers in the regional sector of education are required so that in the year 2020 salaries of pedagogical workers reached 130% of the average pay in the Czech Republic. ČMOS PŠ and the Trade Union of Workers in Higher and Academic Education agreed on possible mutually planned protest actions to support their requirements.
