As ETUCE earlier reported, the first hearing in the trial of Eğitim Sen’s members, Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, who have been on a hunger strike for 191 days, took place on 14 September 2017 in Ankara, Turkey. Eğitim Sen reported that neither Nuriye Gülmen nor Semih Özakca had been allowed to be present at the trial and defend themselves.

The next hearing is to be held on 28 September 2017 in the courtroom at the Sincan Prison Campus, where Gulmen and Özakça continue to be detained.
