Framework of Actions on the Attractiveness of the Teaching Profession
Published:Education trade unions and education employers agree on a wide range of actions to be implemented at European, national and local level, contributing to the reinforcement of the attractiveness of the teaching profession.
The document detailing 31 tasks is titled a Framework of Actions on the Attractiveness of the Teaching Profession and was negotiated at the final conference of a joint project of ETUCE and EFEE (European Federation of Education Employers) that took place in Warsaw on 30-31 January 2023.
The Framework of Actions is organized around seven pillars:
- Recognising the role of social partners in education and committing to social dialogue
- Working conditions
- Initial teacher training and continuous professional development
- Curriculum and autonomy
- Investment to enhance the attractiveness of teaching
- Health and safety
- Raising the status of the teaching profession
The final version of the Framework of Actions is available here, its text is to be adopted by the European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Education at the Plenary meeting on 14 December 2023.
