Teacher Training Seminar on Gender and Sexuality Education

Published:

From 11 to 15 October 2015 IGLYO (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Youth and Student Organisation) together with NGO's and other organisations invites teachers for a training seminar on gender and sexuality education. The workshop aims to provide teachers with concrete tools and methods in support of inclusive education with a view to better combat discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation.

Schools play a decisive role in shaping young people's minds and teaching values of tolerance and mutual understanding; and yet they sometimes have difficulties to address these topics. Homophobic and transphobic bullying is common among young people and needs to be addressed. During the seminar the participants acquire new competences to tackle these issues. Teachers from secondary schools from all over Europe are invited to apply for the workshop in Oslo, Norway. The registration deadline is 15 May 2015.
