On 4 March 2015, celebrating the International Women's Day, the European Parliament, together with members of the Turkish and Western Balkans Parliaments, organised a conference about the political participation of women. Topics of the event, among other things, were the importance of the media and education in promoting the participation of women in politics.

Representatives from the organisations Sandglass from Serbia and the Women's Network of Kosovo presented best practice examples for improving the number of women in decision-making positions in enlargement countries.
